About

Australian Cotton Industry Data Dashboard

The Australian cotton industry is committed to continually improving its social and environmental sustainability, underpinned by science, industry best practice and collaboration throughout the textile supply chain.

Data drives decisions on Australia’s modern cotton farms, and we recognise that many customers require robust data to meet their obligations and make decisions about sourcing raw materials, including cotton.

This dashboard – the first of its kind for a cotton industry globally - is about openly sharing the data behind the story of Australian cotton, where we are now and where we’d like to be in future.

It draws on a number of best available data sources including from the Australian cotton industry, government, publicly available information and commercial business.

Our goal is to continually improve not only our practices but the data that supports these changes. We’ve collaborated across the Australian cotton industry to report the most robust data we currently have, identify gaps and work towards improving the way we collect and report our impact.

Special thanks to the Australian Government’s ATMAC program for financing this project, and to the following Australian cotton industry organisations for their support:

  • Australian Cotton Shippers Association
